Everett, you are such a happy little guy! It is very easy to make you smile! You’ve had a couple of full blown laughing fits with your brother. I could never get sick of that sound! Now that you can sit independently, you are pretty content to just sit and play with toys. And by ‘play’ I mean put things in your mouth. We are glad you are not crawling yet because once you do, we will be very busy keeping things out of your mouth that shouldn’t be there!
Your hands have come out of your sleep sac! We’ve tried that before, but this time it was no problem to transition. It was necessary since you rolled in your sleep sac and had no hands free to help hold your head up…you were not a happy camper when that happened. But you now love to sleep with hands stretched up over your head. It is also good for you to put your own soother in at night, which sometimes happens. You have moved to having 2 one and a half hour naps (give or take). One at 10:00 and one at 2:30. We try to be quiet for you while you are sleeping, but you are now able to sometimes go back to sleep if you’re woken up. Nights haven’t changed much. You are usually up sometime between 2-5 to eat. I am longing for the day when you will sleep right through, but it doesn’t seem like it will be anytime soon! Once you slept from 12:00 to 7:00. That was magical! I still give you a dream feed, which I so enjoy doing. It’s the only time you will sleep on me now, and I savour that feeling! I love looking at your little face while you sleep and hold you just a bit longer than I maybe need to!
You still drink milk every 3 hours, but it’s getting to the point that we need to make changes with feeding routine. Now that you eat solids, you aren’t as interested in drinking milk, which makes it harder to feed you!
Some new skills you learned this month were rolling a lot more and being able to cover a bit more ground, ‘reading’ books (basically just hitting them as I read), picking up food and actually getting some in your mouth, and maybe possibly saying mamma and da da da. You are so very wiggly now. You do not sit still! You love jumping - jumperoo, jolly jumper or just someone holding you. You love to stand and can take a couple steps with someone really supporting you. Still no teeth for you! You love it when anyone sings, especially daddy with his guitar. Sometimes you try to sing along.
You still have the bluest of eyes, chubbiest of legs and cutest little face! And you are always getting comments about how awesome your hair is with a natural styling quiff!
