Everett, you continue to grow and grow! It’s fun watching you learn new skills. This has been a busy month for us. We went to 3 hotels, and you had good naps, but night time wasn’t very fun for you or me! You don’t usually fall asleep in people’s arm anymore despite their best efforts, but you prefer either your car seat or your bed! It’s pretty easy to put you down for naps and bed now; I just zip you up in your sleep sac and pop the soother in! You transitioned from 5 naps to 4 naps this month. A couple times you even had 3 naps, but they were long naps. You are starting to have longer naps because you are learning to put yourself back to sleep. I started sleep training you at the end of the 3 month mark, but it’s taking a while for you to really catch on. You still are hungry and want to eat 2 times a night, but the sleep training is teaching you to go to sleep on your own, so I don’t have to come in all the time to give you your soother. You have started to go to bed at an earlier bedtime, between 7:30-8:00. During the day you eat every 2 hours, but that is changing to 2 1/2-3 now that naps are longer. You are also able to stay awake longer in between naps; 1 1/2 hours usually. I have started giving you a dream feed before I got to bed, which seems to help!
I wonder sometimes if you have already started playing strange with people. Sometimes the only way you settle down is by coming back to mom’s arms. You definitely prefer to be facing out and looking around while people hold you. You also love to stand and jump when people are holding you.
You started playing in the jolly jumper, and jumperoo. You kind of are starting to figure it out, but you still like your bouncy chair better! You like your play gym too, especially if someone is beside you watching you. You are definitely getting spoiled with attention as your two older siblings dote on you whenever you are awake. They simply love you and you love them! It’s fun for mama to watch! You started giggling at the beginning of this month! Now it is Wren’s mission in life to make you giggle again! You are starting to find a new volume with your voice and with your crying… And you are starting to play with your tongue, which makes you quite drooly at times. You also have found your hands and suck on your fingers. You have even found the same two fingers to suck on that Wren sucked on when he was small! You’ve also started grabbing toys and bringing them to your mouth. You especially like blankets and your ‘taggy’.
You rarely poop these days, and when you do poop it’s small…but not always! Just ask Clara about what happened when we went to visit her for the first time. That was not pretty. Speaking of…you got 2 new cousins this month; Chase and Clara! And we are patiently waiting for another to arrive!
We have so much fun with you Everett! You are a happy little growing guy. We are so thankful to have you in our lives!
