Your smile melts my heart!
Pretty happy guy!
You have started bringing up your hands to your mouth all the time now!
Already sticking your tongue out at me!
Not loving tummy time, but tolerating it!
You had your first Christmas! Christmas eve you slept so well going all the way to 3:20am before needing to eat and then Christmas night you slept till 4:20!! Wren was sick with strep throat, so I had to keep him away from you until he wasn’t contagious anymore…that was difficult. But I’m so thankful you didn’t get sick! You also had your first trip to the cabin! The weather was nice, so you even had a toboggan ride, then let your siblings have a ride while I carried you in my arms and you had a great nap! You had your first babysitter (Ken and Gloria Froese) and didn't want to miss a minute, so you only fell asleep basically when I got home - I think you were up 2 1/2 hours.
You have some awesome blonde roots coming in! Whenever people see you they comment on how light your hair is getting!
You don’t spit up very often, but when you do, it’s a full fountain coming out of you and landing all over me. You think it’s especially funny when we are out and you throw up all over me. You’ve also had your fair share of blow-outs! I have stopped putting white on you for that reason! The cloth diapers are the only diapers that are strong enough to withstand that kind of explosion right now! Then you quit pooping altogether for a couple weeks. Probably trying to give me a rest from scrubbing!
You started loving the playmat! You are upset when we first put you down until you notice the lights, then you give the biggest smiles! Oh I wish I could bottle up those smiles! You also like your vibrating chair and spend a lot of time in it watching us eat, or watching mommy bake and make supper.
You are so happy. You love when people smile at you and will most often reward them by giving them big bright smiles! I just don’t want to miss a single smile. You also really like your owls on the playpen. You talk to them. You are so proud of your voice.
You had some sort of rash on your cheeks, tummy, hands and arms that made you red and super dry. I think that it was itchy for you :( So we oiled you up, lotioned you, gave you a hazel necklace, and didn’t take you outside and that seemed to help your cheeks come back to their nice soft, squishy, kissable selves!
You are still able to fall asleep in a crowd of people. Everyone loves rocking you to sleep and you savour it! Mommy pretty much always puts you in your crib for naps. I swaddle you and give you your soother and you fall right asleep (most of the time). If that doesn’t work, I take you out for a few minutes and then try again. You love to escape the swaddle. You are an escape artist! No matter how well I think I’ve swaddled you, it only takes you 3 seconds to get your little fist up to your mouth. I predict another thumb sucker coming our way!
Nights have gotten much better. I usually feed you 2 or 3 times. At Christmas you slept awesome, then got a little less awesome, which was difficult. I just keep reminding myself that it wont be like this for long. Someday I will get to sleep all night again… so I just enjoy the cuddles with you while I can!
You have 5 naps a day. You often can stay up for an hour, then you are tired and need another nap. Sometimes you stay awake longer. You usually nap for an hour, but can go longer too. Once your siblings are put to bed, you enjoy soaking up all the attention of mom and dad. You spend time looking at us when we are settled down for the evening watching TV. I often find myself looking at you and all your happy faces instead of the TV!
